Berdella Spilde

Berdella L. (Arlt) Spilde, 85, of Aberdeen, SD, passed into the arms of her loving Savior at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center, Aberdeen. She was the widow of the late Rodney L. Spilde, who preceded her in death in 2008, to whom she was married for 50 years.

Berdella L. Arlt was born on February 19, 1938, in Eureka, SD, to Edwin and Hulda (Miller) Arlt. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and worked for years side-by-side with her husband running a farm and manufacturing company. She loved traveling, crafts, stitching, beading, and just visiting with friends and newcomers. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was faithful to the end.

Berdella will be missed by those who survive her, including two sons: Ronald Spilde of Aberdeen and Donald Spilde of Aberdeen; two daughters Dawn Armfield (Spilde) of Aberdeen and Melody Reed (Spilde) of York, PA; five grandchildren: Sara Maroney, Ryan Denholm, Annika Reed, Gavin Reed, and Ella Reed; six great-grandchildren; and one sister Sharon (Arlt) Fisher.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 9, 2024, in Aberdeen, SD, at a time and location yet to be determined. Future updates will be posted for those locally who wish to join the family.

Funeral Services will be held at North Preston Lutheran Church located at 20338 443rd Ave, Lake Preston, SD, on July 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow.
