Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Curtis Rohrbach, 75, of Ashley will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. Rev. Rhia Strohm will officiate.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

There will be visitation Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Curtis died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.

Curtis Rohrbach, son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Humann) Rohrbach was born December 14, 1941 in Leola, SD. Grew up rural Ashley on the family farm in Cold Water Township. He graduated from Ashley High School in 1960. In April 1964, he married Stella Huber and they had two children, LaVonne and Randy.

Curtis farmed in Lehr, Ashley, and Wing, ND and then moved to Bismarck, ND in 1971. He worked in manufacturing plants as a welder. He then moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1973. Finally, returning to Ashley and worked at Blumhardt Manufacturing until he retired in 2010. For several years he wintered in Arizona and would return to North Dakota to help farm.

Curtis enjoyed camping, fishing and ice fishing, going to coffee and Polka music. He was a very good cook and enjoyed gardening and would grow his own tomatoes and cucumbers. Curtis was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared Curtis’s life are children, LaVonne (Kirk) Walker of Aberdeen, SD, Randy Rohrbach of Jamestown, ND; brother, Ronnie (Debbie) Rohrbach of Florence, AZ; sisters, Dianna (Lanny) Bahr of Garrison, ND and Shirley (Terry) Root of Tigard, OR; sister-in-law, Linda Rohrbach of Gold Canyon, AZ; grandchildren, Tia (Aaron) Roehrich and Derek Walker both of Aberdeen; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Trayke Roehrich and Tanner Oban and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rickie and Harvey.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Tia Roehrich, Aaron Roehrich, Derek Walker, Alyssa Roehrich, Trayke Roehrich and Tanner Oban.

Casketbearers will be Dan Rohrbach, Bryen Rohrbach, Cory Rohrbach, Ryan Rohrbach, Sanro Fink and Harley Fink.

Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.



    To Curt’s family, LaVonne So sorry for your loss, Curt and I were friends in high school and I don’t look at this often but I’m a bit late. He was a good guy and worked hard all his life.
