Jamestown, ND-Funeral service for Gottlieb C. Fiechtner, 81, of Jamestown and formerly of Monango, ND will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 29, 2012 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 502 1st Ave. N. in Jamestown. The Rev. Tom Eckstein will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Monango.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 2 pm at the church.
Gottlieb died Monday, June 25, 2012 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Gottlieb C., son of John and Eva (Bollinger) Fiechtner was born April 11, 1931 on the farm near Monango, ND. This is where he was raised. He graduated from Monango High School with the class of 1949. Gottlieb farmed most of his life with his parents near Monango and also raised Black Angus cattle. He continued to raise cattle until his retirement in 2002.
He was united in marriage to Clara Middlestead Hartman on February 14, 2003. They made their home in Jamestown.
Gottlieb was a Monango Community Historian. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling around North Dakota.
Gottlieb was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown and a past member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monango. He was the former treasurer of St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery Association.
Surviving Gottlieb is his wife, Clara, one sister, Esther (Warren) Markuson of Ellendale, one brother, August (Tilly) Wiederrich of Ellendale, one half brother, Bob (Lori) Wiederrich of Edgeley and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers, Reinhold and Richard and one sister, Violet preceded him in death.
Casketbearers will be Carl Hintzman, John Middlestead, Cory Genter, Larry Genter, Randy Laufenberg and Jeff Fregien.
The organist will be Dave Morlock.
The family prefers memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church.
