Aberdeen, SD-Mass of Christian Burial for Joshua “Josh” David Leonard, 22, of Aberdeen will be 3:00 pm, Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.

Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, August 6, 2018 in Greenwood Cemetery at Mobridge, SD.

There will be visitation Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Josh died Monday, July 30, 2018 in a motor vehicle accident near Bath, SD.

Joshua David Leonard, son of Thomas and Pamela (Zahn) Leonard was born January 19, 1996 at Aberdeen. He grew up in Aberdeen and attended Roncalli Catholic School through 7th grade and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School with the class of 2014.

Josh worked for DemKota Ranch Beef and had just began working for House of Glass in Aberdeen.

Josh enjoyed hunting and had a love for Ford trucks just like his Grandpa Zahn, who first taught him how to drive. He collected scrap metal and could always find the value in it and enjoyed working on engines, both large and small. He had a creative eye and even made a necklace with two Weed Eater pistons attached.

Grateful for having shared Josh’s life is his parents, Tom and Pam Leonard of Aberdeen; paternal grandparents, Richard and Loretta Leonard; Aunts and Uncles, William and Marie Leonard, Susan and Steve Schatz, Theresa and Steve Schneider, Cindy and Monty Miller, Patty and Guy Kraft, Gerald Leonard, Rick and Jackie Leonard, Troy and Cathy Zahn and Todd Zahn; numerous cousins and girlfriend, Abi Ruth Grenz.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Marilyn Zahn, uncle, Craig Zahn and cousin, Harley David Zahn.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Josh’s cousins.

Casketbearers will be Devon Smith, Brady Johnson, Landon Daschle, Joshua Lindquist, Joshua Moos, Dallas Naasz and Brody Johnson.

Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with the arrangements.
