Cedar Point, NC-Funeral service for Michael Jerome Gisi, 64, of Cedar Point, NC and formerly of Aberdeen will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1708 8th Ave. NE. The Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
There will be a prayer service at 7 pm, Monday with visitation from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Michael died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, NC.
Michael, son of Jerome and Vivian (Grote) Gisi was born February 21, 1948 in Aberdeen. He attended parochial school thru middle school, and then attended Central High School where he graduated.
He was united in marriage to Gloria Conn in 1967. They had four children together. He worked for Hub City Iron (Safe Guard) from 1967-1987.
In 1987, he moved to Florida where he met and was united in marriage to Marilyn Schutt. He worked for Pall Corporation until 2008 as a CNC machinist. In 2009, he and Marilyn moved to Oakes, ND for a short time but soon relocated to Swansboro, NC.
Michael loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping and being on the water on the Gulf of Mexico.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marilyn, three daughters, Jeanette (Jeff) Quandt of Oakes, ND, Michelle (Alan) Papke of Swansboro, NC and Tammy (Ray) Anderson of Gladbrook, IA, one son, Daren (Errin) Gisi of Mansfield, SD, two sisters, Susan Misslitz of Aberdeen and Cheryl (Roger) Felix of Warner, one brother, Gerald Gisi of San Diego, CA, ten grandchildren, Kristen, Melissa, Cassie, Michael, Brittney, Austen, Jerrin, Dawn, Rikklyn and Dylan and one great-great-granddaughter, Alli.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rick and Robert.
Casketbearers will be Daren Gisi, Ted Misslitz, Gerald Gisi, Alan Papke, Layne Gisi and Jesse Taylor.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
