Ashley, ND-Mass of Christian Burial for Richard Paul Ringuette, 78, of Ashley will be 10:30 am, Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. David’s Catholic Church in Ashley. The Rev. Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga will officiate.

Richard died July 2, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Richard Paul Ringuette, son of Harold and Marie (Knuth) Ringuette was born April 20, 1940 at his parent’s home in Jamestown, ND. He grew up in Jamestown, graduating from St. John’s Academy. He received his undergraduate in Biology, Mathematics and Science from North Dakota State University, then earned his Master’s in Science from University of Minnesota.

Richard was united in marriage to Betty Golz on April 28, 1962 in St. James Basilica in Jamestown. Richard was a teacher and school administrator throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. In 2013, he retired, and he and Betty moved to Ashley.

Richard was an avid dog trainer and was a judge at dog trials and enjoyed hunting. He was active in the sport of curling for many years. After moving to Ashley, he drove the Ashley Senior Citizens bus. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin, ND and of Knights of Columbus, where he had served as Grand Knight. Richard was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Ashley Senior Center.

Grateful for having shared Richard’s life are his wife, Betty; two sons, Daniel (Damaris) Ringuette of Marion, SD and Jack (Kristie) Ringuette of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Lori (Tony Mayer) Ringuette of Warwick, RI; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one brother, Ron Ringuette of Jamestown.

Preceding Richard in death were his parents and sister, Avon Allen.

Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.

    Betty and family, we are so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing, I so enjoyed my visits and conversations with him at the senior center, his friendly laughter, and his interest in all our dodge trucks.
