Clinton Meidinger Obituary

Ashley, ND-Memorial service for Clinton Meidinger, 82, of Ashley will be 2:30 pm, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Ashley. Rev. David Irwin will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Clinton's obituary.
Burial will be in New Kassel Cemetery, rural Zeeland, ND.
Clinton died August 16, 2020 at Ashley Medical Center.
Clinton was born July 2, 1938 to Arthur C. and Frieda (Aipperspach) Meidinger on the family homestead ten miles north of Zeeland, ND. He attended country school and started farming at the age of 16. He raised feeder cattle, normally around 800 to 1,000 head and also small grains. Clinton retired from farming in 1998 and moved to Ashley in 2002. He helped other farmers for many years. He was united in marriage to Lois Zandstra Vander Wal on June 15, 2012 in Linton, ND.
Clinton enjoyed gardening, cooking, and fishing. He looked forward to coffee time with his friends and was an avid NDSU football and basketball fan.
Clinton was a former member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, having served on the Church Board. For many years, he sat on the Zeeland School Board and also the ASC Board. He was honored with a Top Farmer Award.
Grateful for having shared Clinton's life are his wife, Lois; three sons, Jason (Justine) Meidinger of Mandan, Curtis (Peggy) Meidinger of Zeeland and Cordell (Heidi) Meidinger of Herreid, SD; two step-sons, Allan Vander Wal of Garfield, MN and Thomas (Lori) Vander Wal of Mandan; two step-daughters, Tamara (John) Quinlau of Jamestown and Becky ( Ed) Collins of Mandan and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant sons, Clinton Jr. and Jacob, sister, Melvina Meidinger and brother, Robert Meidinger.
The family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.
