Aberdeen, SD-Committal Service for Clyde Elroy Virgil, 82, of Aberdeen will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Samuel Bobby will officiate.
Clyde died January 14, 2022, at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center.
Clyde Elroy, son of Floyd and Edith (Pierson) Virgil was born May 15, 1939, in South Dakota. After graduating from high school, Clyde enlisted into the United States Army in January 1962. He was honorably discharged in January 1965. He was very proud of the American Flag and to have served his country.
Clyde married Loretta Curtiss and together they raised their children in Akron, Colorado where he was a private building contractor. Over the years he was a business owner and held other jobs. He was a strong and hard-working man. He returned to South Dakota in 1980. Clyde was generous, caring, and faithful man.
Grateful for having shared Clyde’s life are his children, Lorna Sharisky of Aberdeen; Ben Virgil of Joliet, MT and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Beryl Virgil.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
