Connie Kaup

Connie L. Kaup, 80, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen, SD.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at Carlsen Funeral Chapel, Aberdeen, with Father Gregory Tschakert officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Constance “Connie” Louise Beckler, daughter of Everett and Helen (Fiest) Beckler, was born February 17, 1943, in Potter County, SD. She grew up three miles from Onaka, SD. She went to both country school and in Onaka.

On April 27, 1960, Connie married Daniel Kaup at St. John’s Catholic Church in Onaka. They farmed near Tolstoy until 1970, when they moved to Aberdeen.

Connie was a cook for the Aberdeen Public School system for 39 years. In her free time and after retirement, she loved to embroider, do puzzles, play bingo, and care for her cats. Connie also enjoyed watching Westerns and all sorts of game shows; if she missed her favorites, she would record them so that she could watch them later. Connie loved spending time and making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Corrine (John) Wald of Wyoming, MN, and Deanne (Paul) Olson of Forbes, ND; son, Delbert Kaup of Aberdeen, SD; sister, Sharon Heinz of Aberdeen, SD; brother, Sidney (Betty) Beckler of Aberdeen, SD; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceding Connie in death were her parents, Everett and Helen; husband, Daniel Kaup; and son, Gary Kaup.

Honorary Urnbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
