Dale Jerome Haar

Dale Jerome Haar, 82, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in Oakes, ND. His wishes were to be cremated with no formal services at this time.

Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.

Dale Jerome Haar was born March 14, 1943, to Edwin and Irene (Dumdei) Haar in Bowdle, SD. After spending his school years in Bowdle, he enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard.

Dale married Gloria Merkel on September 25, 1971, and raised three sons: Dennis, Doran, and Darcy. 

Dale owned and operated a bar for many years. He later became a pest control specialist, owning his own company until he decided to retire. Dale enjoyed playing checkers, especially when he figured out the internet; you could always find him playing online. He enjoyed playing card games with his family. Dale also enjoyed reading a good book.

Grateful for having shared Dale’s life are his wife, Gloria Haar of Aberdeen, SD; his three sons: Dennis (Amanda) Haar of Terre Haute, IN, Doran Haar of Aberdeen, SD, and Darcy (Kristi) Haar of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother Dewain Haar of Aberdeen

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Irene.
