Erica A. Denis

Aberdeen, SD-Memorial Service for Erica A. Denis, 56, of Aberdeen will be 3:30 pm, Friday, October 22, 2021, at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Lisa Heffernan will officiate.

Erica died October 16, 2021, at her home.

Erica Ann, daughter of Leon Sr. and Audrey (Iverson) Denis was born August 31, 1965, in Minneapolis, MN. She attended school until the sixth grade in Minneapolis. Her family then moved to San Diego, CA where she completed her schooling.

Erica was united in marriage to Kenneth Tucker in 1982 in Oceanside, CA. They lived in Oceanside for a few years where she was a waitress. In 1985 they moved to Minneapolis, and she worked in Food Service.

In 1989, she met Dan Higgins and spent the next 32 years building a life with him. In 2001, they and her daughter moved to Eureka, SD where she worked as a waitress at Jan’s Café and in 2005, she relocated to Aberdeen, working at M&H Convenience Store.

Erica loved spending time with her grandchildren, and nothing made her happier.

Grateful for having shared Erica’s life are her daughter, Sara Wolff (Steven Sossong) of Aberdeen; son, Josh (Sarah) Tucker of Brandon, SD; mother, Audrey Denis of Aberdeen; life partner, Dan Higgins of Aberdeen; sisters, Brenda Denis (A.J. McCarver) of Indianapolis, IN, and Kristi Denis (Mark Hunsicker) of Vistal, NY; brother, Nick (Lorna) Denis of Minneapolis, MN and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, sister, Noveline Miles and brother, Leon Denis Jr.
