Glenda Joyce Huber Pudwill Salzer, 89, entered eternal rest on January 13, 2024.

The Funeral Service is at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Carlsen Funeral Home, 1708 8th Ave NE, Aberdeen, SD, with Pastor Judy Schultz officiating.

The burial will be at a later date at Green Mound Cemetery Leola, SD.

Visitation will be two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Glenda Joyce Huber was born July 25, 1934, to Edward and Alvina (Fischer) Huber. She attended school in Herreid, SD. On November 10, 1952, Glenda married Donald “Boots” Pudwill. The couple had three boys. Boots died in a construction accident in 1957.

On March 10, 1960, Glenda married Chester Salzer. The couple added two more boys to their family and raised them on a farm northeast of Leola, SD.

Glenda and Chet lived in Pierre, SD and operated the Oahe Marina from 1981 to 1986.

In 1989 they purchased the L&L Meat Market in Long Lake, SD. They sold the business in 1999 and moved back to Leola to retire.

Glenda made an impression on many. Her influence extended beyond her biological family - numerous people often referred to her as “mom” or “grandma.”

Grateful for having shared Glenda’s life are her sons: Don (Joan) Pudwill of Leola, SD, Scott (Tammy) Salzer of Rosholt, SD and Steve (Ann) Salzer of Aberdeen, SD; daughters-in-law: Verna Pudwill and Rhonda Pudwill-Munier ;her siblings: Dennis (Ione) Huber of Herreid, SD and Shirley (Jim) Shadduck of Mobridge, SD; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Donald Pudwill and Chester Salzer, sons: DuWayne Pudwill and Terry Pudwill, one infant grandson Aaron Lee Pudwill and one niece Denise Huber.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials can be sent to St James Lutheran Church in Leola and Avera@Home Aberdeen.
