Hildegarde Baumann

Ashley, ND-Private Graveside Service for Hildegarde Baumann, 96, of Ashley will be 11:00 am June 19, 2021, at Ashley City Cemetery.

Hildegarde died February 19, 2021, at Ashley Medical Center.

Hildegarde was born February 4, 1925, to Jacob A. and Margarit (Lindemann) Maier near Eureka, SD. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1943. She taught school in Hoskins District then worked in the McIntosh County Auditor’s office for three years.

She was united in marriage to Raymond O. Baumann on October 13, 1946, in the Evangelical Church at Ashley. They lived on the Oscar Baumann farm until l985 when they moved to Ashley. Their son, Glenn then took over the farm.

Hildegarde loved her children and grandchildren. She felt it was her number one job to do things for them in any way she could. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Grateful for having shared Hildegarde’s life are her sons, Glenn Baumann of Ashley, and Robert (Lori) Baumann of Fargo, ND; daughter, Geraldine Baumann of LaMoure, ND; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and six brothers.

Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
