Jennifer Knight Obituary

Jennifer M. Knight, 33, of Burnsville, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home in Burnsville, MN.

The Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, with Pastor Derek Baum and Pastor Mike Waldrop officiating.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Aberdeen, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

Jennifer Marie Knight was born on March 24, 1989, to Mark and Toni (Alberts) Knight in Aberdeen, SD.  She attended C.C. Lee Elementary School, Holgate Junior High, and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 2007.  Jennifer was active in soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball, and was very proud her senior year when the volleyball team took second place at the State volleyball tournament.  Jennifer fell in love with the healthcare field when she was in High School and wanted to continue her education in Nursing at the University of New England in Portland, Maine.  She attended classes for two years until the death of a close friend there, which brought her back home to Aberdeen.  She took some time off from school before finishing her education and graduating from Northern State University.  Even though her plans changed, and her education went in a different direction, Jennifer never lost her caring spirit.  Jennifer worked a few years in Aberdeen before her final move to Minneapolis, MN. While in Minneapolis, she had a few different jobs, including Home Health Care and working in a Chiropractic office.  Her favorite jobs were the ones where she worked with the public as she loved visiting with everyone.

Jennifer had a caring heart and would always be interested in what people had to say, and what was going on in their lives.  People loved her for that, and she loved them.  She was very proud of her family and was always a cheerleader for each of them.  When one of them had an achievement, Jennifer was the first to let everyone know. She also never missed a moment to brag about her only nephew!

Jennifer loved baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Her favorite player was Clayton Kershaw and she jokingly said that when he met her, he would leave his wife and marry her.  On game days, she would put on her Dodgers attire, put a jersey on her dog Gloria, and settle in to watch the game.

Jennifer loved dogs and grew fond of Australian Cattle dogs. She decided to get one of her own and had a special one in Gloria!  Even though Gloria is a big dog, Jennifer snuggled with her like a lapdog.

Jennifer had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, a loving heart, a generous nature, and an infectious laugh.  We are so sad her life was cut too short, and we will miss her every day. Jennifer succumbed to a terrible disease that caused health issues and finally took her life.

Grateful for sharing Jennifer’s life are her mother and father, Toni and Mark Knight of Aberdeen, three brothers; Chris (Jeni) Knight of Sioux Falls, SD., Matt Knight of Aberdeen, Andrew Knight of Aberdeen, her nephew Myles of Sioux Falls, SD., Aunts, and Uncles: Teri and Ron Galloway of Olathe, KS., Renee and Jim Smith of Dickinson, ND., Bob and Eunice Knight of Webster, SD., Barb and Mike Carson of Watertown, SD., Janel and Mark Reedstrom of Pickeral Lake, SD; numerous cousins, many friends, her special friend Eric Zweber, and her beloved dog Gloria.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her Grandparents; Paul Alberts, Mary and Don Wulf, Floyd Knight, Pearl and Vern Franson, and her aunt, Rhonda Wulf.  The family prefers memorials to the Aberdeen Area Humane Society.
