Jerald Schaffer

Jerald Schaffer, 69, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on February 6th, 2024, at Avera St. Luke’s Aberdeen, SD.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, February 12th, 2024, at Carlsen Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Waldrop of Aldersgate Church.

The burial will be at a later date at Eureka City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jerald Leon Schaffer was born July 1, 1954, in Eureka, SD to Leonard and Ardella (Sippert) Schaffer.

He attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School.

After high school, Jerald worked for Lust Chevrolet. In his late 20s, Jerald was diagnosed with a condition that required him to leave his job and go on disability.

Jerald loved riding his bike to go for coffee at the Red Rooster and Subway. He also enjoyed bible studies at Aldersgate Church.

Grateful for having shared Jerald's life are his father Leonard, his sister Jane, niece Rhiannon, and step-brother David.

Jerald is preceded in death by his mother, Ardella, and stepmother, Sharron.
