LeaDaine "Toots" Meidinger

Ashley, ND-Funeral Service for LeaDaine “Toots” Meidinger, 93, of Ashley will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Carlsen Funeral Home. Rev. David Irwin will officiate.

Private Burial will be in Ashley City Cemetery.

LeaDaine died April 21, 2022, at the Ashley Nursing Home.  

LeaDaine was born August 14, 1928, to Fred and Margaret (Betz) Bollinger in rural Ashley, ND. She attended country school. LeaDaine was united in marriage to Paul Meidinger on November 14, 1948 at the Ashley Baptist Church. With this marriage they had two children, Robert (1950) and Roberta (1964).

Toots was a housekeeper when her children were young and when they started school, she was employed at the credit union and Ashley motel. She volunteered at the Ashley Nursing Home. You could always find her helping wherever was needed. She frequently helped during Bingo and in the Craft Room.

Toots was very musical and during her younger years, she loved to play piano and accordion. Her sisters and her sang on the radio in Jamestown.

She had a great joy for her pets, dogs, Zevi and Skipper and cat, Leonard. Toots enjoyed playing cards with friends on Saturday nights at their home.

Toots was a lifelong member of the Ashley Baptist Church and a member of the ladies circle.    

Grateful for having shared LeaDaine’s life are her children, Robert Meidinger of Ashley and Roberta Johnson of Naples, FL; sister, Caroline Meidinger of Ashley; and several Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, four brothers and five sisters.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Toots Nieces and Nephews.  

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Ashley Nursing Home and Hospital.

Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
