Lucille Klipfel

Forbes, ND-Funeral Service for Lucille Klipfel, 88, of Forbes will be 10:00 am, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Forbes. Rev. Paul O.S. Preus will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lucille died February 16, 2022, at Benedictine Living Community-Ellendale.         

Lucille, daughter of Henry and Viola (Hein) Fehling was born August 30, 1933, on the family homestead near Fredonia, ND. She attended country school and helped other families in their homes.

Lucille was united in marriage to Oscar Klipfel on May 22, 1950, in Ortonville, MN. They made their home near Forbes on their own farm. They later moved to West Virginia and later to California in the early 1950’s. In the late 1950’s, they made their way back to their farm near Forbes. They started a dairy operation, operating it until 1981, when they retired. Lucille began working at Trinity Bible College as a cook, working there for several years.

Lucille liked knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She was a great gardener and liked tending to her produce and flowers. She also enjoyed playing piano, loved fishing and was a huge animal lover. Lucille was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Forbes.

Grateful for having shared Lucille’s life are her daughters, Linda Waters of Cottonwood, AZ, and Stella (Ronald) Martin of Forbes, ND; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three sisters, Verna Knutson of Minneapolis, MN, Velora Hensley of Breckenridge, MN and Carol Dallmonn of Edgeley, ND.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar (September 2013), brother, LeRoy Fehling and two sisters, Dallas Buchholz, and Judy Mammel.

Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellendale has been entrusted with arrangements.
