Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Marjorie “Margie” Katherine Martz, 79, of Ashley will be 10:30 am, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley. Deacon Deb Cantrell will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Marjorie’s obituary.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

There will be a prayer service Friday at 7:00 pm with visitation from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Marjorie died July 30, 2021, at her home.

Marjorie was born May 3, 1942, to Theodore and Katherina (Hoffman) Fuchs in Ashley, ND. She grew up in Ashley, graduating from Ashley High School with the class of 1960.

She was united in marriage to Robert Martz on June 24, 1960, in Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. They made their home in Ashley and in 1964 they moved southeast of Ashley to the Martz homestead. This is where they raised their family and farmed.

Over the years, Marjorie also kept busy with several part-time jobs she held in Ashley. She enjoyed getting together with friends and playing cards.

Marjorie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had been active in Church Circle. Also, a member of Red Hat Society and Sunshine Club.

Grateful for having shared Marjorie’s life are her husband of 61 years, Robert; three sons, John (Cara) Martz of Fort Worth, TX, Warren (Denise) Martz of Ashley and Stacy Martz of Barnesville, MN; one daughter, Sondra Goebel of Bismarck and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Casketbearers will be Jonathan Martz, Ryker Turner, Dakota Martz, Austin Martz, Kyler Martz, Brady Martz, Collin Martz, and Colton Martz.

The family prefers memorials to Zion Lutheran Church.
