Mark died August 13, 2020 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Mark James Nuese, was born May 11, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. He was adopted by Edward and Marcella Nuese in Marshall, MN, where he lived until graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1964. At 13, Mark and a friend started a Rock ‘n' Roll band, the Marauders. They played at numerous venues all over the midwest in high school and college, and the band recorded two records. During high school, Mark participated in football, baseball, track, golf, and was very active in theatre and musical productions.
Mark attended BSC, later serving in the US Army from 1968-1971. Mark married Connie, on June 8, 1968. They returned to Marshall, where they raised their two children. They owned a cabin on lake Shaokatan, in SW MN, enjoying many fun times with friends and family. Mark started numerous businesses in Marshall; Nuese Development, Independent Lumber, Sundance Auto Care, and Tee'd Off Golf. He was a long-time member of the American Legion and Marshall Lions Club, served on Holy Redeemer Parish Council, and worked with Heart-to-Heart. Mark never lost his love for 50's and 60's Rock ‘n' Roll, and REFUSED to accept rap as music.
In 2004, Mark and Connie moved to Aberdeen, SD. He continued his love of sports, coaching football and baseball teams for his grandsons. He spent countless hours playing catch in the front yard with the boys or riding in the "red rocket" atv with Katie.
His favorite times were having a house full of family, grandkids playing in the basement and yard, cooking big breakfasts, and being a loving "Poppy" to Brendon, Madi, and Devon Nuese, Kyle, Sam, Jake, and Katie Kenser.
Mark and Connie had a small Adobe in New Mexico where they spent time with friends, hosting family, and golfing.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Samuel Mark Kenser. Survived by wife of 52 years, Connie, daughter Tina (Kelly) Kenser, son Jeremy Nuese and Lynnette Conley, grandchildren; Kyle, Jake, and Katie Kenser, Brendon, Madi, and Devon Nuese, and numerous cousins.
