Mary Lou Brandt Obituary

Aberdeen, SD-Mary Lou Brandt passed away at home on Friday, August 13th 2021 at the age of 78. A memorial service will be held at 10AM Saturday, August 21st; First Presbyterian Church, Britton SD. A luncheon will be served following her burial at the Amherst Cemetery.

Mary Lou was born August 3rd, 1943, in Britton SD to Clark and Leone (Donaldson) Krutsinger.

Mary Lou started working at age 13 as a car-hop and worked at Britton Livestock for several years. She retired from Hortons after 23 years. At Hortons known as the Happy Birthday gal singing happy birthday wishes over the intercom to all on their special day. After retirement she delighted the residents of Wheatcrest Hills providing daily activities and earned her CNA License providing home health care. She ended her long work history by cleaning Green Iron Equipment.

Mary Lou was active with VFW Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and sold poppies on Memorial Day.

Mary Lou will forever be remembered by so many people as she brought joy to each person she met. She was known for seasonal decorating everywhere she lived. She loved gardening and collecting all kinds of everything as she was able to find the beauty in the smallest treasures.

Mary Lou is survived by her 6 children: Robin (Donna), Rowdena Norris (Bill), Benjamen, Brian (Heidi), Roellen Godwin (Justin), and Brad (Stephanie).

2 Brothers: Alan Krutsinger (Sue) and Kevin Krutsinger.

3 sisters: Gloria Shelton, Arletta (Jerry) McGregor, and Linda LaPorte. 9 Grandchildren: Travis Brandt and Elizabeth Heimerl-Rolland, (Wisconsin), Alex (Stephanie) Brandt (London, England), Angela (Perryn) Dobbins (Groton, SD), Parker Brandt (SDSU), Molly (Matt) Stave (Washington), Abby Brandt (Washington), Andrew Brandt (Michigan) and Brandon Rasmussen (Britton).

7 Great- Grandchildren: Jaden, Toby and Rachel (Groton SD), Ethan, Sarah and Lucy (Wisconsin), and Nevaeh (Britton).

Preceding Mary Lou in death were her husband Ronnie, parents Clark and Leone Krutsinger, Brothers: Clark (Buddy), Claudie, and Dale Krutsinger. Sisters: Shirley and Kathleen “Kathy”.
