Ramona Hormann

Ramona Hormann, 60, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 18th, at 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, with Pastor Neil Hannahs officiating.  Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

Ramona Hormann, daughter of Barb Modreski, was born January 6, 1963 in Manistee MI.  She was raised there, graduating high school with the class of 1981.  Ramona had a tremendous love for the Church, uniting in marriage to Daniel Hormann on July 18, 1981.  Dan was enlisted in the United States Coast Guard at the time, and after his  honorable discharge, Ramona and he moved to Aberdeen, SD for a few years, before moving to Brooklyn Park, MN, where their daughter Jennifer was born in November of 1984.  Once Dan completed school, the family moved back to Aberdeen where Andrew was born in November of 1988.  After a work transfer, they then moved to Rochester, MN. for 2 years, before finally settling for good in Aberdeen, where daughter Elizabeth was born in June of 1997. 

Ramona worked tirelessly raising her beloved family for many years, before finally succumbing to many health struggles to be with the Lord. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Dan Hormann of Aberdeen, SD; daughters Jennifer Gleason of Chamberlain, SD, and Elizabeth Hormann of Aberdeen, SD; son Andrew (Jessica) Hormann of Conde, SD; mother Barb Modreski of Whitehall, MI; sister Robin of Grand Rapids, MI; brother Dale of Petoskey, MI; and one grandchild, Moriah Hormann of Conde, SD.
