Robert Kukrall

Robert “Bob” Lee Kukrall, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. A Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Carlsen Funeral Home in Aberdeen. 

Robert Lee Kukrall was born September 4, 1951, in Faulkton, SD to Jacob and Evalyn (Chase) Kukrall.  He grew up with his three sisters in Seneca, SD where he attended grade school.  Robert moved to McGrath, MN to live with his aunt. He attended McGrath High School and graduated in 1969. On July 28, 1973, Bob married Sally Genzler.  They welcomed three children; Brock, Joshua, and Brent.

Bob served in the Army from 1976-1983.  Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs.  For nearly 20 years, he worked for BRB Contracting as a heavy equipment operator.  He then drove truck until retiring in 2018.  In his free time, Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing, visiting with friends and random strangers, and especially loved spending time with his family. 

Grateful for having shared Bob’s life are his three children: Brock (Deb) Kukrall of Aurora, SD, Joshua (Casey) Kukrall of Aurora, SD, Brent (Melynda) Kukrall of Watertown, SD; his eight Grandchildren: Lyssa (Dennis) Glover, Lindsey Rau, Cole Kukrall, Chase Kukrall, Rowan Kukrall, Marcus Kostboth, Alahna Bauer, and Laila Bauer; his two sisters: Rosie Schultz of Redfield, SD, and Estella Moore of Redfield, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father; Jacob Kukrall, his mother; Evalyn (Chase) Kukrall, and sister, Alice Engle.
