Scott Clark Obituary

Aberdeen, SD-There will be a Private Family Service for Scott E. Clark, 61, of Aberdeen. Scott died July 24, 2021, at his home.

Scott E., son of Casey and Dorothy (Olson) Clark was born October 2, 1959, in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Ipswich, SD, graduating from high school with the class of 1977. He attended college in Rapid City.

Scott was united in marriage to Rhonda Hettich on September 3, 1977, in Hoven, SD. Scott was involved with Blockbuster Video almost from the beginning of the company. This brought him back to Aberdeen where he was the General Partner of the local Blockbuster Video store. He was forced into early retirement due to failing health.

Scott’s grandchildren were his biggest love and enjoyment. Golf was a favorite pastime of his and he had golfed at many courses in the United States over the years.

Grateful for having shared Scott’s life are his wife, Rhonda; children, Angella (Chad) Hintz of Brookings and Kandi (Ryan) Smith of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Raelynn Clark-Hintz, Kyler Hintz, Nevaeh Hintz, Deklan Hintz, Tavin Hintz, Hailey Smith and Jaiden Smith; mother, Dorothy (Fritz) Fiala of Browns Valley, MN and sisters, Virginia “Ginger” (Joel) Kuschel of Browns Valley, MN, and Julie Schaller of Groton.

He was preceded in death by his father, sisters, Vicki Strom, and Colleen Schnaidt, father-in-law, Jacob F. Hettich and mother-in-law, Velma L. Hettich.
