Stanley Roger Rattei

Ashley, ND-Private Graveside Service for Stanley Roger Rattei, 68, of Ashley will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 15, 2020 at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ashley. Rev. Dale Burling will officiate. Stanley died May 11, 2020 at Ashley Medical Center.
Stanley Roger, son of Jacob Edwin and Rosina "Rose" (Nitschke) Rattei was born May 10, 1952 at Ashley. ND. This is where he attended Ashley Public School and did various work for many area farmers and handyman work for city dwellers. In the 1970's he worked for his brother, Lester, at his body shop in Ellendale.
Stanley was united in marriage to Sheila Thomsen on July 29, 1979 in Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Ashley. Stanley then worked for Community Action doing carpentry work. Due to health issues, he became disabled in the early 1980's and has not been able to work since.
Stanley enjoyed talking on the telephone and watching YouTube videos. He liked doing projects around his own home and also liked collecting things.
Grateful for having shared Stanley's life are his wife of 40 years, Sheila; brothers, Lester (Robin) Rattei of Pierre, SD, and Dennis (Lori) Rattei of N. Sioux City, SD and sister, Melinda (Harry) Geiszler of Brookings, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
