Aberdeen, SD-Graveside Service for Steven James Murphy, 55, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Riverside Memorial Park with military rites by Sidney Smith American Legion Post #24.
Steven died September 9, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Steven James Murphy, son of James Robert and Vivian (Wiersbeck) Murphy was born June 23, 1965 in Milwaukee, WI. He began his education in Milwaukee and then moved with his family to Oak Creek, WI, graduating from high school in 1983.
Steven joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Oklahoma and Texas. He was an Air Force mechanic. In 1987 he was honorably discharged and returned to Wisconsin where he was a machinist. In 2008 Steven moved to Aberdeen where he worked at Walmart, NAPA Auto Parts and Auto Value.
Survivors include his mother, Vivian Murphy of Aberdeen; son, Christopher Murphy of Racine, WI; brother, Terrance Murphy of Scandinavia, WI and sister, Valerie Murphy of Shorewood, WI.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen has been entrusted with the arrangements.
