Susan Tollefson, daughter of Bennett and Verlyn (Lobreg) Tollefson was born April 10, 1951, in Wagner, SD. She lived there for one year, then her family moved to Sisseton, SD in 1952 where they also lived for one year. In 1953, her family moved to a farm in the rural area near Columbia, SD. Susan attended a country school in the Columbia area, then began her high school years at Hecla High School, graduating with the class of 1969. She helped on the farm doing chores with the sheep. Susan moved to Aberdeen in 1972 and began work at Hub City, Inc. In 2017, she retired after 45 years of employment.
Susan was united in marriage to Lee Peterson on August 12, 2006, in Aberdeen. They were truly best friends and together enjoyed so many activities. She loved her children and grandchildren and family time, attending their school functions and gatherings with the family at holidays was always something she looked forward to. Those who knew her will never forget she had a quick wit and enjoyed a good prank. Playing bingo, cards, watching football and doing puzzles was always relaxing for her. She also attended the local car races. Susan and Lee liked taking the time to simply go on country drives together. Susan collected glass slippers, crystal vases and cookbooks which came in handy because she enjoyed cooking.
Susan was a life member of IAM Union Local 862 and member of the Moose Lodge.
