Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Wilma H. Vossler Stugelmayer Reuther, 89, of Ashley will be 2:30 pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Brian Knutson will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Wilma's obituary.Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service at the church.Wilma died June 24, 2020 at Ashley Nursing Home.Wilma H. Reuther was born to Adam and Hilda (Deile) Vossler on April 23, 1931 in Wishek. She was the second of three children and as a young girl, she lived on farms in the Wishek and Ashley areas. She went to country school until fourth grade when her family moved to Ashley where she attended public school, graduating with the class of 1949. Wilma was united in marriage to Oscar H. Stugelmayer on February 28, 1950 at the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Ashley by Rev. H.L. Lechner. Together they welcomed one child, Glenn. She obtained her teaching certificate and taught in rural schools near Danzig and Venturia for four years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Ashley Motor Company and Ashley Body Shop, and as a bartender at Sportsman's Bar. After over 17 years of marriage, Oscar passed away in November of 1967.Wilma was married to Clarence Reuther on July 17, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. John Kammerer. They enjoyed farming together on two farms east of Ashley for many years. During this time she worked several jobs, including Deputy Registrar of Deeds for McIntosh County and also as a clerk at Dobler Livestock Sales. She was a member of the Gold Star Saddle Club and was the treasurer for 15 years. Wilma and Clarence sold their farm in 1986 and moved to town where they enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for family when they visited from Wisconsin. After over 27 years of marriage, Clarence passed away in February of 1998.Wilma was an extremely reliable, dedicated employee and worked at Fey, Inc. for over 30 years, retiring in May of 2002. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years and her faith was always very important to her. She enjoyed her weekly gospel study and going to various church functions. In retirement, Wilma's favorite activities included going to coffee, playing cards with her friends and visiting family. She felt fortunate to have friends that would offer rides to coffee, church and cards.Wilma is survived by her son, Glenn (Lesley) Stugelmayer of La Crosse, WI; three grandchildren, Alison (Adam) Frost of La Crosse, WI, McKinze Werket of Eagan, MN and Adam (Carley) Stugelmayer of Anthem, AZ; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Stugelmayer, Abby, Brody and Chloe Frost, Carter and Mason Werket and Zoe and Clara Stugelmayer; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.Wilma was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar and Clarence; parents, Adam and Hilda; brother, Marvin and sister, Lorraine; parents-in-law; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law; and a nephew.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be given in her name to the AMC Nursing Home or Zion Lutheran Church.Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with the arrangements.
