Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Annetta "Nettie" Fregien Heinrich, 90, of Ashley will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Ashley. Face coverings are required. Rev. Susan Anderson will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Annetta's obituary.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Ashley.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Annetta died December 6, 2020 at Ashley Nursing Home.
Annetta was born April 6, 1930 to Jacob F. and Paulina (Kempf) Fregien at Ellendale, ND. She grew up on a farm east of Ashley in McIntosh County, with five brothers and five sisters. Annetta attended country school in McIntosh County from first through eighth grade.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Gottfried Heinrich on April 30, 1950 in Zion American Lutheran Church in Ashley. They started their married life living for three years with Edwin's parents, who owned the Coldwater Country Store east of Ashley. Annetta and Edwin lived on numerous farms in Dickey and McIntosh counties before retiring in Ashley. In their many years of small grain farming, they not only raised five children, but they also raised cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, horses, and milked cows. She became a resident in Ashley Nursing Home in January 2015.
Annetta was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved playing card games with her grandchildren and watching television.
Grateful for having shared Annetta's life are two daughters, Peggy Pribula of Thompson, ND, and Wanda Schlabsz of Ashley; three sons, Jim Heinrich of Jamestown, ND and Larry Heinrich and Lester Heinrich, both of Ashley; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin (9-15-2015), grandson, Bradley Heinrich, brothers, Ephraim, Ervin, Frederick, Arthur, and Herbert; sisters, Martha, Ida, Alma, Rose, Ann Rebecca and son-in-law, Howard Pribula.
Casketbearers will be Shelly Hills, Michelle Kempf, Melissa Bengson, April Nies, Adam Pribula, Travis Pribula, Kayla Bubach and Abby Ketterling.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ashley Medical Center.
Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
