Bernice “Bea” Marion Nixon

Ellendale, ND-Service for Bernice "Bea" Marion Nixon, 90, of Ellendale will be held in the Spring of 2021 due to COVID-19.
Burial will be in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery (North Savo).
Bernice "Bea" went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 21, 2020 at Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale.
Bernice Marion Nixon was born February 27, 1930 to Severin and Clara (Gilbertson) Hanson on a farm near Hillsboro in Norway Township, Trail County, ND.
Bea met Edwin Nixon through friends, and they fell in love and were married March 23, 1954. They made their home on the family farm in Savo Township near Frederick, SD.
Bea enjoyed reading her Bible and various magazines and books. She cherished the times she and others would host Bible studies, for her faith meant everything to her. She always looked forward to visits from her children. Bea loved to bake and cook and was known from her children for her "killer" potato salad.
Grateful for sharing her life with her are her children, Mark (Dawn) Nixon of Frederick, SD, Bonnie (William) Yacko of Gibraltar, MI, LaNette Nagy of Trenton, MI and Lance (Ruth) Nixon of Pierre, SD; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gunder Hanson of Ulen, MN; sisters, Violet Jacobson of Twin Valley, MN and Loretta Heasley of Onida, SD and several nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Severin and Clara Hanson, husband, Edwin; two brothers, Theodore "Ted" Hanson and Lester Hanson, two brothers-in-law, John Heasley and Vernon Jacobson, sister-in-law, Diane Hanson and two grandsons, Isaiah Yacko and Mikko Nixon.
Carlsen Funeral Home of Ellendale has been entrusted with arrangements.
