Aberdeen, SD-Mass of Christian Burial for Chad T. Weber, 49, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Michael Griffin and Deacon Peter Mehlhaff will officiate.
Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
There will be a liturgical wake at 7:00 pm, Wednesday with visitation from 6:00-7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Please wear Purple/Gold to celebrate Chad’s love of the Minnesota Vikings to the wake. Visitation on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church.
Chad died Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Chad T. Weber, son of Thomas and Karen (Opp) Weber was born September 5, 1970 in Minneapolis, MN. When Chad was a child, his family moved to Sioux Falls, SD and when he was in the eighth grade, they moved to Pierre, SD. After his high school graduation in 1988, he attended Northern State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1992.
Chad was united in marriage to Benita Smith on May 15, 1993 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank, SD. Chad began his accounting career at RAM Enterprises as a Bookkeeper. In 1994, he took a position with the State of South Dakota in the Department of Revenue in Aberdeen as an Auditor. On July 27, 1998, he started at Eide Bailly as an Accountant. While working there, he earned his Certified Public Accountant credentials and May 1, 2013, Chad became a Partner at Eide Bailly.
Chad cherished every moment he spent with his family. They thoroughly enjoyed boating and camping together. Home projects were very enjoyable for him and he became quite proficient at doing them. He loved golf and looked forward to getting out on the course with family or friends. Those whom knew Chad, knew he was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan.
Chad was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and gave his time and talent to many organizations. Some of those being, Aberdeen Catholic Foundation, Ag Committee of Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce, SD Certified Public Accountants Society, NE Chapter, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Whitetail Bowman Archery Club.
Grateful for having shared Chad’s life are his wife of 26 years, Benita; daughter, Brianna Weber of Rapid City; son, Matthew Weber of Aberdeen; parents, Thomas and Karen Weber of Pierre; brother, Nathan (Jill) Weber of Mitchell and sister, Jennifer (Todd Reistroffer) Weber of Sioux Falls, SD.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, in-laws, Lelyon and Carol Smith and niece, Taryn Weber.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Chad’s colleagues at Eide Bailly and his friends at Centennial Homes.
Casketbearers will be Kenny Byrd, Phil Morrison, Kevin Tiede, Kevin Foss, Dave Hintz, Carl Bot and Mike Boland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials of the donor’s choice.
