Aberdeen, SD-Funeral service for Constance “Connie” Peldo, 83, of Aberdeen will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frederick. Rev. Justin Brotzel will officiate.
Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery in the Spring.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Connie died March 2, 2019 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.
Constance “Connie”, daughter of Carl and Naomi (Wagner) Burow was born November 25, 1935 on a farmstead near Guelph, ND. When she was a child, her family moved to a farm five miles east of Ellendale where she started country school. Later, graduating from Ellendale High School with the class of 1953.
Connie was united in marriage to John Peldo on October 31, 1953 in Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale, ND. They made their home on a farm on the ND/SD state line, where they farmed. Years later, they moved on to John’s family homestead where they farmed, and she worked at First National Bank in Ellendale for many years. Connie also worked at other area businesses before retirement. After her husband John died, Connie moved into Frederick in late summer of 2013. In February of 2015, she entered Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.
Connie loved tending to her pet lambs and sheep, especially Petsie and Mrs. Horns. She like to do crossword puzzles, and spending time in her gardens with her flowers and vegetables. She was an avid fan and liked to cheer on and watch the Frederick Titans.
Connie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was very active.
Grateful for having shared Connie’s life are her children, Brian (Joyce Emerine) Peldo of Council Bluffs, IA and Kay Peldo of North Dakota; three grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor and Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, Atley, Killian, Kincaid and Kian; sister, Deb Post of Aberdeen and brother, Curtis (Jackie) Burow of Lakewood, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John (7-21-2013) and brother, Richard.
Casketbearers will be Ryan Pagel, Tony Smith, Chris Sumption and Jeff Zinter.
