Aberdeen, SD-Funeral service for Dick J. Fiedler, 65, of Aberdeen will be 11:00 am, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Rhia Strohm will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a luncheon to follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Dick died December 2, 2018 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.
Dick John Fiedler, son of Norman Ervin and Lorraine (Naasz) Fiedler was born October 31, 1953 at Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Aberdeen and attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the class of 1971. He lived in Aberdeen for the majority of his life. Over the years, he had been employed with Pickus Construction, UPS, Brown County Highway Dept. and Hales Trucking. In 2001, he retired due to health reasons.
Dick always looked forward to visiting with family and friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed his many rides with his brother, Mike. Dick found a lot of enjoyment from his trucking career. He also enjoyed raising his two Great Danes, Tasha and Rocky and never missed watching a boxing match.
Grateful for having shared Dick’s life are his daughters, Amy (Mike Tople) Hartman of Frederick, SD and Jessica Kinzler of Mitchell, SD; one brother, Michael Fiedler of Aberdeen; three sisters, Lana (Myron) Zoellner, Sally (Gary) Larson and Kathy (Boz) Gross, all of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren, Brittany Kiefer, Khari Kiefer, Justin Hartman, Jesse Hartman, Trinity Feickert, Jalina Kinzler, Caleb Kinzler and Zoey Kakwitch; four great-grandchildren; two nephews; five nieces and 13 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two brothers, Tom and Harry Fiedler and one niece.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Dick’s grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Casketbearers will be Jesse Hartman, Justin Hartman, Boz Gross, Gary Larson, Mike Tople and Myron Zoellner.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
