Frank lost his courageous three-month battle with cancer on April 24, 2019 at Ava’s House by Sanford.
Frank was born August 7, 1945 to Edwin and Rose (Schilling) Walth in Aberdeen. He lived and worked in Aberdeen until enlisting into the United States Air Force in 1964, where he was stationed in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Frank was united in marriage to Phyllis Schumacher in August of 1966. They shared together, 52 years of marriage. They resided in Aberdeen and raised three children. He worked hard his entire life, from being a farmhand in his younger years, his years in the military, and truck driving over three million safe miles, for over 50 years. Frank and his family were very proud of that achievement.
Frank was a gentle, kind, generous man, with a big warm caring heart. His favorite things in life was traveling with his wife, fishing, (especially the Walth Family Tournament every summer in Mobridge, SD), old western movies and bologna sandwiches.
Frank was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 in Aberdeen.
Grateful for having shared Frank’s life are his wife, Phyllis and children, Kay Schultze of Sioux Falls, Kent (Nikki) Walth of Harrisburg, SD and Kristi (Travis Peterson) Stueven of Alexandria, SD. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Katie Schultze, Preston Walth, Cierra Stueven and Myah Stueven, three bonus grandchildren, Skylar, Tally and Jamin Peterson and a bonus great-granddaughter, Tatum. Frank also had three grand dogs, Jack, Tillie and Saige. Frank’s whole world was his grandbabies and grand dogs.
Survivors also include three brothers, Lawrence Walth of Groton, SD, Wilbert Walth of Aberdeen and Jim (Jolene) Walth of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Allen, sister, Mabel, three nephews and multiple four-legged fur babies that will be waiting to greet him at the pearly gates.
Honorary Urnbearers will be Frank’s nephews, Larry Walth, Bill Walth, Steve Tadlock and Jeff Walth.
Urnbearer will be Frank’s grandson, Preston Walth.
