Aberdeen, SD-Memorial service for Henry George Hoerner, 60, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Salvation Army Corps Community Center in Aberdeen.  Major Mary Hunt will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Henry died October 6, 2019 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Henry George, son of George Francis and Rosalie Marie (Geier) Hoerner was born July 6, 1959 at Aberdeen.  He grew up in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1979.  He worked for several years as a motor rural route carrier for the Aberdeen American News. Henry then was employed at Shopko and later at Target as a stocker. He retired due to health reasons. Henry was united in marriage to Vickie Stippich on November 6, 2010 at Salvation Army Corps Community Center in Aberdeen.

He enjoyed fishing from his boat, hunting pheasants and playing cards with his grandkids. Henry also enjoyed bowling and was on leagues which earned him several gold medals in Special Olympics.

Henry was a member of Salvation Army Corps in Aberdeen.

Grateful for having shared Henry’s life are his wife, Vickie; sisters, Diana Carrasquillo of Hayward, CA, Cynthia (Rickey) Scheuffele of Aberdeen; brothers, Joseph Hoerner of Sioux Falls, James Hoerner of Aberdeen; brother-in-law, Robert Gregson of Hope, ID; step-children, Dustin Beck and Kellie (Robert) French, all of Aberdeen; and step-grandchildren, Quinten Samelson, Meredith French, Hallie French and Bradley Sukut.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mariann Gregson.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Aspire Inc., 607 N. 4th St., Aberdeen, SD 57401.
