Johns Island, SC-Mass of Christian Burial for Jacqueline Cofell, 85, of Johns Island, SC and formerly of Aberdeen will be 10:00 am, Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.  Rev. Fr. Michael Griffin will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Jacqueline died Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Summerville Community Hospice House in Summerville, SC.

Jacqueline Marie, daughter of Robert L. and Isabel G. (Walduski) Konantz was born May 5, 1934 at Aberdeen. She grew up in Aberdeen on North Kline Street, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1952.  Jacqueline was united in marriage to Kendel W. Cofell of Ellendale, ND. They shared 22 years of marriage and had four children, Kendel, Jr., Roberta Ann, Richard and Michael. Her husband was in the United States Air Force. For the first 15 years of their marriage they traveled extensively with the military being stationed and living in Colorado Springs, CO, Japan, Florida, California, South Australia and finally settling in Denver, CO.

Jackie was a stay-at-home mother for most of her life but later she began working at Arapahoe Community Credit Union in Denver where she was employed for 19 years. She began her employment as a teller and retired as Vice President/Manager. After retirement, she lived in Portland, OR for 20 years and for the last two years, Jackie has lived in Johns Island, SC.

Jacqueline was a devout Catholic. Her days were filled with attending Mass, prayer and reading the bible.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Johns Island, SC.

Grateful for having shared Jacqueline’s life are her children, Kendel (Julie) Cofell, Jr., Roberta (Todd) Walton, Richard (Christi) Cofell and Michael (Michelle) Cofell; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Judith Johnson and Joni Seiler.

She was was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert L. Konantz, Jr. and Richard W. Konantz.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave NE, Aberdeen, SD 57401.
