Marilyn died April 18, 2019 at Watertown Care and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Marilyn Marie Riley was born October 31, 1940, to Lloyd and Genevieve (Rahm) Jacobson in Watertown. She attended school in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School in 1958. She worked at Quadee Rubber Co. (later Minnesota Rubber Co.), retiring after 25 years.

On March 1, 1960, she married Ambrose Riley of Watertown in Immaculate Conception Church. The couple was blessed with three sons, Doug, Jeff and Mike. Family was of utmost importance to Marilyn. She instilled values and stressed the importance of common sense to her children and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for giving hugs, and nobody ever left the Riley home without one. Christmas was a special time for her, being surrounded by family and always giving the best gifts.

She enjoyed camping, coffee with friends, cooking and being a good hostess. She was very strong-willed, as evidenced by her fight to the end against cancer. Marilyn was always there with a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. She was fond of saying, “I’m going to give you my advice whether you take it or not”.

Left to cherish her memories are husband, Ambrose; sons, Doug (Mary) Riley, Jeff Riley and Mike (Susie) Riley; grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Stormo, Terri (Mark) Wilson, Jamie (Joe Engels) Riley, Tom (Caitlin) Riley, Dan Riley, Joe Riley and Amber Riley; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Madison and Alison Stormo and Morgan, Avery and Kane Wilson; sister, Joyce Mack; brother, Gordon Jacobson; sister-in-law, Joan Whittle; many nieces and nephews and her coffee group friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Genevieve Jacobson; in-laws, Raymond and Grace Riley; sister, Deb Jacobson and sisters-in-law, Rose Marie (Mike) Lantsberger and Jean (Roger) Hanson.
