Marvin died December 13, 2018 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.
Marvin Oscar, son of Christian and Martha (Mehlhaff) Moser was born June 16, 1946 at Eureka, SD. He was raised in Hillsview, SD and attended country school through the seventh grade, graduating from Eureka High School with the class of 1965. In the summer of 1965 he began work as a cook at Eureka Public School. In 1975 he transferred taking the position of full-time custodian, retiring in July of 2008 after 43 years of service with Eureka Public Schools. Marvin moved to Aberdeen in July of 2014.
Marvin enjoyed baseball on television and attending as many “Twins” games as he could. He certainly liked to go uptown to have a “Pepsi” and socializing with his friends at the Eureka Legion and VFW was always something to look forward too. He was the President of Sherman Apartments Council and will be missed there as he helped many and always was there to “Call Bingo”.
He was a life member of Eureka Reformed Church, also a former church custodian from 2006 to July of 2014 and a member of First Reformed Church in Aberdeen. Also, a life member of Jaycees International, serving twice as the President of Eureka Jaycees and SD Custodian Engineers Association.
Grateful for having shared Marvin’s life are his brother, Robert (Vicki) Moser of Leola; three sisters, Arlene Kurle of Eureka, Doris Knittle of Sioux Falls and Betty Graff of Ashley, ND and 12 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James, Donnie and John, two sisters, Viola Graff and Marilynn Moser and niece, Cindy Moser Casey.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Marvin’s nieces, nephews and all of his close friends.
Casketbearers will be Kyle Moser, Shane Moser, Karl Moser, Kent Moser, Chad Madsen and Dan Kloster.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
