Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Milbert Dollinger, 94, of Ashley will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Ashley Baptist Church. Rev. Kyle Huckins will officiate.
Burial will be in Venturia Baptist Cemetery.
There will be visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Milbert died January 3, 2020 at Edgewood Mandan.
Milbert was born November 21, 1925 to Philip and Margaret (Bader) Dollinger on the family homestead northwest of Venturia, ND.
He was united in marriage to LaVilla Haas on November 24, 1946 in Venturia Baptist Church. They started their married life on a farm just east of where he was raised. On this land, they raised cattle and grain for 50 years. In addition, Milbert sold Moorman Feed to area farmers and thoroughly enjoyed interaction with fellow farmers. Milbert and LaVilla moved to Ashley but remained active in the Venturia and Ashley community. Milbert was a substitute school bus driver and drove South Central Transit for 7 ½ years.
Milbert was a member of Ashley Baptist Church and a former member of Venturia Baptist Church, as well as Gideons International Ministry, which he was very proud of. He was very honored to sing in quartets, trios and the choir.
Grateful for having shared Milbert’s life are his wife of 73 years, LaVilla; children, Lana Llewellyn of Globe, AZ, Lyle (Mary) Dollinger of Fargo, ND, Neal (Bobbi) Dollinger of Rippey, IA and Nina (Stew) Weber of Bismarck; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He joins in heaven his parents, two sisters, Ada Dohn and Thelma Hochhalter, brother, Edwin Dollinger and infant great-granddaughter, Rose Colby.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Milbert’s grandchildren and Gideons International.
Casketbearers will be Gordon Knoll, Darvin Fischer, Mark Pfeifer, Robert Bertsch, David Schauer and Ray Goehring.
Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
