Roger Lee Hoffman

Ellendale, ND-Memorial Service for Roger Lee Hoffman, 60, of Ellendale will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Ellendale. Rev. Patrick McBride will officiate.

Burial will be in Ellendale City Cemetery.

Roger died December 18, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. 

Roger Lee, son of Gottlieb and Leverna (Schwartz) Hoffman was born March 22, 1960 at Ashley, ND. He grew up in Ellendale and attended Ellendale Public School and Oakes Public School, graduating from Oakes High School with the class of 1978. He then attended vocational school in Oakes, earning his certificate in Auto Body Repair. Roger became employed with Blumhardt Chevrolet and later Ellendale Public School and had numerous jobs over the years. In 1997, Roger began working at Northern State University (NSU) in Aberdeen in the maintenance department, a job he held for 23 years until his death.

Roger enjoyed biking and camping at Camp Bentley near Drake, ND. He always liked to spend time with his cats and anytime outdoors was time well spent. He will always be remembered for being willing to try different things, such as dance classes, fishing, gardening, and taking computer classes. He had been active with league bowling and enjoyed his friendships over the years.

Roger was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellendale and a former member of Aberdeen Moose Lodge.

Grateful for having shared Roger's life are his five sisters, Evangeline (Ike) Hoffman of High Point, NC, Loretta Hoffman of Jamestown, ND, Violet Hoffman, and Wanda Hoffman, both of Ellendale and Shirley (Dana) Barbie of Pflugerville, TX; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and two kitty kids, Kallie, and Sebastian.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials.
