Sioux Falls, SD-Funeral service for Ronald L. Weller, 75, of Sioux Falls will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Eureka. Rev. Lloyd Miller will officiate.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Eureka.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church, 5001 East Madison St., Sioux Falls.

Ronald died July 3, 2019 at his home in Sioux Falls.

Ronald L. Weller was born June 2, 1944 to Harvey and Alice (Kurle) Weller at Eureka, SD. He attended Eureka Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1962. He farmed with his father.

Ronald was united in marriage to Shirley Fischer on December 6, 1970 at Eureka. Their family grew with the births of their three daughters, Stacie, Jenny and Tena. In 1981, they moved to Mobridge where they owned and operated the Mark Hotel. In 1985, they moved to Highmore where they owned and operated the Ranch Café and in 1986, they moved to Miller where he worked at Wilbur’s Feed and Seed. In 1994, they moved to Sioux Falls where they co-managed Solar Garden Estates. Shirley died April 12, 2000. Ronald continued in property management.

He was united in marriage to Diane Sorenson on April 28, 2007 at Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Sioux Falls and together managed properties. In 2010, Ronald started losing his vision due to Glaucoma and was forced to retire. He was diagnosed with a Lung Disease in 2016.

Ronald loved spending every moment with his children, grandchildren and his precious dogs. He also enjoyed car rides and going to Falls Park. Whenever he could find the time, he could be found in his “toy room” with his collections. Ronald was a former member of Zion American Lutheran Church in Eureka and a current member of Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.

Grateful for having shared Ronald’s life are his wife, Diane; three daughters, Stacie (Jay) Ugofsky of Harrisburg, SD, Jenny (Nigel) Redd of Sioux Falls and Tena Schulz of Wishek, ND; nine grandchildren Brittany, Tiara, and Jeniah Ugofsky, Tenille Clapsaddle, Malik, Sharif and KJ Redd, Rachel Mcclain and Megan Gabel; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Bob) Jung of Eureka and Cindy (Danny Bentz) Scott of Mina, SD, many nieces and nephews, and a special person in his life, Austin Auch of Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Shirley, one great granddaughter, Hannah, brother, Dennis and sister, Judy Weller.

Casketbearers will be Nigel Redd, Malik Redd, Sharif Redd, KJ Redd, Jesse Staebner and Jay Ugofsky.
