Aberdeen, SD-Memorial service for Sharon G. Denning, 76, of Aberdeen will be 2:30 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Aberdeen. Rev. Michael Jacobson will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Ashley City Cemetery, Ashley, ND in the spring.
Sharon died Monday, December 31, 2018 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.
Sharon Grace Woehl, daughter of Albert and Bertha (Bader) Woehl was born November 21, 1942 on the family homestead farm southwest of Kulm, ND. She attended country school and high school in Kulm. She worked in Ashley as a waitress in a café.
Sharon was united in marriage to Norman Denning on June 18, 1961 in Berlin Baptist Church, rural Fredonia, ND. They made their home on his parent’s farm and farmed. They then moved to Milpitas, CA in 1963. Sharon worked at the San Jose Credit Bureau, Kmart, and as a secretary at Fairchild Semiconductor International, Inc. for more than five years. In 1981, Sharon and Norman returned to the Midwest and settled in Aberdeen. She worked at Aberdeen Credit Bureau and Control Data for a number of years and as a secretary at United Building Center.
She loved relaxing while crocheting and on the other spectrum, she enjoyed riding 4-wheelers. Sharon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, 20-year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and past President of Eagles Auxiliary. She always enjoyed socializing with friends.
Grateful for having shared Sharon’s life are her husband, Norman, daughter, Norma (Doug) Barrett of Longmont, CO and one granddaughter, Jamie Kay Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Celeste Denning and two sisters, Della Heller and Vivian Wahl.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
