Shiloh died November 11, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center-Bismarck.
Shiloh was born May 21, 1981 to Ralph and Debra (Schlenker) Neu at Eureka, SD. He grew up on the family homestead farm while attending school with the class of 1999 at Ashley Public School. Shiloh then attended vocational training in Minot, ND, attaining his high school diploma and his automotive parts man certificate. Shiloh became employed at Blumhardt Chevrolet in Ellendale, ND where he worked for two years. He then moved back to Ashley and was employed at Ashley Medical Center in the dietary department.
Shiloh was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age. Due to his health, he was not able to work for many years.
Shiloh was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed being around semi-trucks and tractors and collected toy tractors. He would talk about hunting with anyone that could share their knowledge, even though he was never able to partake in that sport. He had a strong love of farm life and everything about it. He liked spending time with his cats. Shiloh will always be remembered as enjoying a simple conversation with the elderly. Over the years, electronics were extremely entertaining to him from computers to CB radios.
Grateful for having shared Shiloh’s life are his parents, Ralph, and Debra Neu of Ashley; brother, Jentry Neu of Ashley and grandmothers Estella Neu of Ashley and Lila Schlenker of Bismarck, ND.
He joins in heaven his grandfathers, Edwin Neu, and Jack Schlenker.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, nationalmssociety.org/donate or Ashley Nursing Home, PO Box 450, Ashley, ND 58413.
Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
Dear Ralph, Deb & Gentry: I am so very sorry to hear of Shiloh’s passing. My heart goes out to you as there are just no words to help heal your hearts. My prayers are with you and your dear mom, Stella. I know her heart is broken as he was always on her mind and in her heart. He was so happy to be here, close to his grandma and his family. I am just so very sorry.
As a young child I remember Shiloh’s love and fascination with tractors, particularly green ones. Later in life, he was a natural as a partsmen, he loved everything about farm life and machinery. He really enjoyed time with his Grandfathers Edwin and Jack and following them around, his time with his Ashley neighbors and friends, and semi time w/ the Shrum brothers. He was a gentle soul, and he loved those around him. Our sincere sympathy to Debra and Ralph, and to Gentry. Our family shares in your grief in the loss of Shiloh. Peace to you during this difficult time from the Schlenker Family.
