Aberdeen, SD-Funeral service for Theodore “Ted” E. Deilke, 70, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 25, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 624 N. Jay St.  Rev. Jordon Andreasen will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

There will be a prayer service Sunday at 7:00 pm with visitation from 5:00–7:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Ted died November 20, 2019 at his home.

Ted was born October 1, 1949 to Theodore Robert and Muriel Marie (McNamara) Deilke at St. Paul, MN.  His family moved to Webster, SD when he was a child.  This is where he was educated, graduating from Webster High School with the class of 1967.  Ted furthered his education at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.  He then began working at 3M in St. Paul, MN.

Ted was united in marriage to Sharon Gagnon on May 31, 1975 in Beaver Lake Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN.  They made their home in Minnesota and in 1984, Ted transferred to Aberdeen.  After 35 years with 3M, Ted retired.  During his retirement, he renovated rental housing, making use of his carpentry skills.

In Ted’s younger years, he enjoyed participating in bowling, softball and volleyball.  He liked to hunt, especially deer.  He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared Ted’s life are his wife of 44 years, Sharon; sons, Kevin (Cassie) Deilke of Sioux Falls and Matt (Rocky) Deilke and Adam Deilke, both of Aberdeen; six grandchildren; his mother, Muriel Nestrud of Bay Port, MN; sisters, Bonnie (Joel) Peterson of Bloomington, MN and Pat (Randy) Elovich of Stillwater, MN and brother, Wayne (Joyce) Deilke of Woodbury, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Len Nestrud.

Casketbearers will be Kevin Deilke, Matt Deilke, Adam Deilke, Andrew Cordes, Derrick Dell and Mike Stucke.

The family prefers memorials to Avera @ Home-Hospice.
