Brett Leigh Holler, son of Harlow and Aly (Rozell) Holler was born March 2, 1957 in White, SD. He is the second oldest of eight siblings. His family moved to a farm east of Warner, SD in 1958, where they lived until 1966, then to a farm west of Warner. He began his education in a country school called Happy Valley thru 4th grade, then attended Warner Public School, graduating with the class of 1975. During high school, Brett was very active in sports and 4-H, showing Holstein Dairy Cattle. After high school, Brett farmed with his father and other area farmers, and so began his future as a Farmer. In 1976, he started farming on his own, a half mile from his parents’ farm.
Brett was united in marriage to Paula Rogers on September 27, 1980 at St. John Lutheran Church in Warner. Together, they had three children, Adam, Garret and Michelle and operated Holler Dairy Farm.
Brett had an enormous love for his kids and grandkids. He was passionate about farming, cattle, mowing his lawn, checking crops and being the gatekeeper. He looked forward to fall harvest with Scott, Lynn and Nick Bierman and enjoyed brownies, orange slices, and warm Sunkist pop. Family came first for “Papa Brett” – especially time with his grandkids. Together, they enjoyed sharing laughs, eating donuts, and going on 4-wheeler rides. Brett’s children will remember him most by his bright smile, caring demeanor, and contagious laughter and happiness. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Warner.
Grateful for having shared Brett’s life are his children and grandchildren, Adam (Jackilyn) Holler and Kolton, Garret (Tara Schipke) Holler and Styerling and Michelle (Dan) Smith and Brayden, Scarlett and Harley, all of Aberdeen; mother, Aly Holler of Aberdeen; and seven siblings, Gregg Holler of Warner, SD, Kristi (Gary) Kuhfeld of Fountain, CO, Joel Holler of Omaha, NE, David (Eva) Holler of Hendersonville, NC, Neal (Eleanor) Holler of Seattle, WA, LeAnn Holler of Tampa, FL and Jon (Jenny) Holler of Murfreesboro, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlow, maternal grandparents, Sarah and Claude Rozell, paternal grandparents, Frank and Gladys Holler and step-grandmother, Edna Holler.
