Jerald died Monday, April 20, 2020 at Prairie Heights Healthcare in Aberdeen.
Jerald was born May 15, 1943 to Isidor and Magdalena (Hopfinger) Imberi near Hillsview, SD. This is where he attended country school. He worked on the family farm until 1963 when he moved into Eureka, where he worked construction and woodworking.
Jerald was united in marriage to Sharleen Ottenbacher in August of 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eureka. He then began working at Eureka Manufacturing and continued working there for more than 40 years. Sharleen died June 1, 1995 and Jerald and their daughters continued to live in Eureka. Following Jerald’s retirement in 2014, he moved to Aberdeen to live with his daughter, Amanda and her family.
Jerald loved working on lawn mowers and doing yard work. He enjoyed the time he spent with his brothers, Jerome and Bert. During his retirement years, he loved being with his little “sweeties”, grandkids.
Jerald was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eureka.
Grateful for having shared Jerald’s life are his daughters, Michelle (Ethan) Erdmann and Amanda (Jon) Peterson, both of Aberdeen; four grandchildren, Kaylee, Kira and Eleanor Erdmann and Noah Peterson; twin brother, Jerome (Colleen) Imberi of Eureka and sister, Ann Harty of Aberdeen.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharleen, three brothers, Bert, Andy and Leo Imberi and sister, Mary Klessens.
