Ashley, ND-Memorial service for Nancy Carol Schnabel, 83, of Ashley will be 10:30 am, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Alvin Beyer will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Nancy died November 1, 2018 at Ashley Medical Center.

Nancy Carol Lammert, daughter of William and Alma (Schaffer) Lammert was born December 1, 1934 at Linton, ND. This is where she began her schooling. The family moved to the Hazelton, ND area and Nancy graduated from Hazelton High School with the class of 1953. She worked in café’s and did child care.

Nancy was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Schnabel on June 9, 1957 at Napoleon, ND. They made their home in Napoleon. In 1974 they moved to Ashley where Chuck was employed at Fey, Inc. Nancy was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother.

Nancy enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and collecting teddy bears, dolls and angels. Time with her grandchildren was very important to her and she cherished those moments.

Grateful for having shared Nancy’s life are her husband, Charles; daughter, Jolene (Frank) Weisser of Ashley; son, Steven (Sonya) Schnabel of Fargo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donny (Marcella) Lammert of Moffit, ND and five sisters, Susie (Neil) Weber, Jean Ohlhauser and Sharon Caruso, all of Linton, ND, Lyla (Ted) Humann of Bismarck and Alice Nord of Hot Springs, SD.

Preceding Nancy in death were her parents, brother, Larry Lammert and sister, Inez Falk.

Urnbearers will be Nancy’s grandchildren, Eric Weisser, Kristen Pollert, Alicia Ennis, Jacob Schnabel and Kalyn Schnabel.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Ashley Medical Center or Ashley Nursing Home.

Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.

    Charles, Jolene and Steve so sorry about the loss of Nancy. Our thoughts are with you and your Families during this difficult time. Mom just spoke with her a couple wks ago.       Thank you So much! Your thoughts are very much appreciated. Mom always loved keeping in touch with friends and family that were long distance. That was very important to her.
